AFCON 1957 — Egypt (Champion)
The first edition of the Africa Cup of Nations was held in 1957 in Sudan. Egypt emerged as the inaugural champions after defeating Ethiopia 4–0 in the final.
Only three teams participated in this historic tournament — Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Egypt’s victory marked the beginning of its dominance in early African football competitions.
